What You’ll Do (Job Responsibilities)

  • Coordinate credentialing of applicants for membership and reappointment according to schedule

  • Process credentialing applications for appointment and reappointment

  • Maintain accurate Medical Staff documentation for regulatory compliance

  • Prepare committee agendas, attend meetings, take minutes, and follow up on actions taken (may not be required for all positions)

  • Investigate issues, generate reports, and present findings to support leadership decisions

What You’ll Need (Minimum Requirements)

  • At least 2 years of credentialing or related professional experience

  • Familiarity with provider enrollment and regulatory bodies like NCQA, DOH, and Joint Commission

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and deadline-driven

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred

How You Can Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • CPMSM or CPCS certification from the National Association of Medical Staff Services

  • Hospitals may require certifications for coordinators. 

  • Director roles require certification.

  • Knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws and healthcare workflows

  • Experience with credentialing databases and reporting tools

  • Poise and professionalism under pressure in fast-paced environments
